  1. Red Fort: A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Red Fort is an iconic symbol of India’s history, which is one of the key things to see in Delhi. Built in the mid-17th century by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, it served as the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal dynasty. The fort’s impressive architecture & there is also an evening light & sound show, which I would highly recommend!

  2. Qutub Minar: Another UNESCO World Heritage site, the Qutub Minar is a stunning 73-meter tall minaret built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak. It is surrounded by other historical structures, including the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque & also, the Iron Pillar of Delhi.

  3. India Gate: This war memorial for World War 1 soldiers is reminiscent of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. It’s a popular spot for picnics & also, evening strolls.

  4. Humayun’s Tomb: Often considered a precursor to the Taj Mahal, this magnificent tomb was commissioned by Humayun’s widow, Hamida Banu Begum, in 1569-70. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site & a beautiful example of Mughal architecture. I would definitely say this is one of the key things to see in Delhi

  3. Chandni Chowk: Experience the hustle & bustle of one of Delhi’s oldest & busiest markets. From street food to jewelry to textiles, Chandni Chowk offers a sensory overload. Also, it offers a glimpse into the old city’s charm. Grab a rickshaw from just outside the gates of the Old Town to tour the markets…

  1. Connaught Place: A commercial & financial hub, Connaught Place is known for its Georgian-style architecture. It also has a vibrant nightlife, & myriad shopping & dining options. It’s a great place to experience the modern side of Delhi. You must try Kwality restaurant, for an unforgettable meal!!

  2. Dilli Haat: This open-air market offers a variety of traditional handicrafts, food, & cultural performances. It’s an excellent place to shop for souvenirs & experience the diverse cultures of India.

  3. Hauz Khas Village: Known for its trendy boutiques, cafes, & art galleries. Hauz Khas Village combines a historical complex with a contemporary urban vibe. It’s a great place to enjoy both heritage & hipster culture.

  • Best Time to Visit: The ideal time to visit Delhi is during the cooler months from October to March. During this period, the weather is pleasant, making it perfect for sightseeing.
  • Transportation: Delhi has an extensive metro network that connects most tourist spots, making it easy & also, affordable to get around. Alternatively, auto-rickshaws & Ubers are also widely available.
